    1. Vampires, beheadings, and crows

      by , 11-29-2013 at 11:39 PM
In a wild west-inspired setting, there's someone called 'the Kid', although he's a grown man with greying hair and wrinkles. I'm watching him ride a motorcycle out of town, and I'm thinking that although he may not be a Kid, it'd also be wrong to call him a man, since he's not human.

There's a man and a woman in some kind of storage space, looks like an attic. She's asking if he's ever even tried moving to 'a real town' and setting up 'a real life,' the way she says other heroes have done. He's surprised she called him a hero and says she's got the wrong idea, and that he's not even human. As a third person observer, I'm thinking how cliche he is, the self-loathing vampire hero type. I focus on his appearance for the first time - a man in a red coat, with a face that reminds me of some actor but covered in scars and boils, and I'm thinking that at least this one's not pretty.

There's a dead guy on the floor between the two of them, and now he wakes up. The guy in the red coat picks up this huge sword with a curve in the blade which I associate with beheading, and he says something about how what he really wants isn't 'a real life in a real town'; what he wants is this weapon, automated, on a massive scale. The dead guy says something about being grateful before his head's taken off.

There are people arguing in the town square. The guy in the red coat gathered everyone here and is standing up on a wooden stage trying to talk to them. One person says, "You act like one of 'em, the game's won!" 'Them' meaning vampires, and 'won' meaning won by the vampires. The person he's arguing with says, "You resist 'em, the game's won!" Everyone seems to think it's hopeless. While the guy in the red coat is focused on them, he doesn't see the burned and headless body which is crawling out of town.

      (Woke up. Back to sleep.)

Dracula, a girl, and a priest/vampire slayer, in a field in daylight. Dracula's kneeling, and the priest's saying that He often seems to hear him and know what's needed. In response, black shapes fill the sky, blotting out the sun, which Dracula doesn't like at all. As a 3rd person observer, I'm thinking about how this is an interesting switch; normally you'd think of darkness favoring vampires, but Dracula was fine with sunlight. The girl says something about sending him to hell, but she's got it backwards; the priest isn't in the business of damning souls. On closer look, the things blotting out the sun are crows; and then among them appear the souls of all those he'd turned.
    2. Wild West :P

      by , 08-12-2012 at 05:01 AM (Dimension X)
This one was actually pretty fun... and yes, another semi-lucid. Alright so first I walked into this random western town and there was a bar but someone was standing in front of the door and blocking the way in. I didn't want trouble, of course, so i kinda walked around for a few seconds and then they moved out of the way. So I went inside the bar, and I saw the bar counter. (And this is probably the longest conversation I've ever had with a DC) So I walked up kinda slowly, and sat down on one of the stools. Then I asked for a coffee. The bartender asked me "What time did you wake up...?" And for some reason, instead of saying the time of day, I said the year. I said "...Two thousand and thirteen." (Which is weird since it obviously isn't 2013 yet.) Hahahah. The look on his face was priceless xD. I don't remember the whole conversation exactly, but I began to tell him about how I was from the future. Then we heard that there was an angry mob approaching the bar, so I ran outside, with the bartender and some other person following me. I then began to kind of squeeze between 2 buildings to get behind them and run away, although it was taking longer than it should have. After I got behind the buildings, The bartender and other guy somehow got ahead of me. For some reason, it was becoming difficult for me to run properly. I was really slow for some reason. So the dream ended with the three of us just running away from the angry mob.
    3. Sing Dirty Nina

      by , 08-12-2011 at 02:27 AM
I enter a lucid dream and I'm flying through darkness. I am determined to have an enjoyable experience so as I fly around I begin trying verbal commands like, "sun come up" or "daylight now". But none of them work, so I starting singing. I make up a cute little song and add in phrases involving sunrises and with feeling I sing, "let the sun come up". I'm basically just using verbal phrases in song form. My subconscious likes it. Perhaps he is grateful for my creative attempt, and the fact that I am asking, instead of forcing. Forcing never works with the sub.

Now I'm flying in bright daylight over an icy ocean of arctic blue glacial waters. I change the song and start singing about warm Caribbean waters, and suddenly the glacier breaks apart and the sea froths and foams and dark debris flies everywhere. This was a scene from some horrible flood. But it was only a changeover. After a few seconds pass, the water is turquoise like the Caribbean and there are beaches formed from the glacial ice. It is so beautiful and amazing just flying through this scene and watching these transitions occur as I sing. My subconscious seems ready to give me anything I ask for. I sing for a beautiful lagoon, and immediately I watch as the sandstone is carved from a cliffside, the debris shooting straight into the air and into nonexistence. The water surges up and over the cliff, and when it recedes there is a beautiful lagoon with waterfalls flowing into it. Plants, trees, and flowers spring up around it. I just float in the air, and watch this amazing site, ready to plunge into the warm waters. But my alarm wakes me up. Snooze.

I re-enter a lucid dream, but it's different. I'm in some sort of mall, but this mall has the most beautiful interior decorating I've ever seen. Each store has displays set up that are so intricately beautiful. They use color and light to make the customer's eye dance around the store. I had barely a moment to state in awe at this scene, when...again alarm goes off...snooze.

I wanted so badly to get back to that store in the mall to take a mental picture of the gorgeous display, but instead I'm in a different place. Or a different time. It's a mall...but there's only western stuff...and it looks like the old west. I'm dressed up as a cowboy, my hair is hidden and tucked up under my hat. The people tending the store in this mall don't look too pleased to see me so I say, "I'll see you boys later," then I make a bull sound, and go charging off toward a wooden wall, head first. Apparently I don't make a very good bull, because I just hit the wall hard and fall to the ground.

My head is aching but I'm alright, I'm more bothered that my boots got all dusty, so I wipe 'em off a bit. Two large men walk over to me, I see they're carrying rifles. The light is behind them so their faces are in shadow but I can see one has long greasy hair and the other is bald. "Howdy," I say, "I'm Dirty Nina." and I take off my hat and let my hair fall down. "You boys are mighty good looking," I say, trying to hide the sarcasm. The bald man walks closer and leans toward me. I can see that he has bandages over his eyes and he's looking really angry..."Well that's just fine little missy, but we got a debt to settle." He smiles, and I see a nasty toothless grin. The dust begins to settle and I need a plan, I see the spurs on my boots glinting out of the corner of my eye...but just then...my alarm goes off. And I have to get up or I'll be late for work.

Very frustrating, this dream was going to be mighty awesome.
    4. Day 8: Recall Fail : End of week 1

      by , 02-06-2011 at 08:49 PM (A Penrose Mind)
My recall failed me today. Well not completely but this is the worse it's been since I started recording. Right now I'm trying out different techniques of how to become lucid (I can't just try to poke my finger through my hand all day), so if you have any techniques (preferably ones that involve DILD) I'm all ears.

Before sleep I thought about two things, Lucid me and my dream guide. Lucid me I only saw once on the elevator. He looked much tougher than me, and I can't help but think about him. Was he some sort of projection of who I wanted to be? Or is he an actual dream character, one I can have a conversation with? What are his hobbies? What's his favorite colour? Of course I haven't seen him since the elevator, but if I ever do see him again I'll be sure to ask him these questions.

The other thing I though about was my dream guide. How awesome would that be? I know it's a bit early to be thinking about one, and you can't just necessarily make one appear, but it would be nice to have one. Someone to help train me, be my mentor. I'd like some help with this whole lucid dream thing, I have problems becoming lucid in the first place let alone fly. I was thinking about what my DG would look like, would it be male or female? Would it be as tall as me? As old? What colour is its hair? What colour is its eyes? Will it even keep the same appearance? Questions, questions...

Anyway my recall was a bit crap today so I'll try to explain in better detail today.

      Fragment 1:
I'm leaving my friends house. It's getting dark out so I start to head home. The neighborhood I'm in is unfamiliar and yet I know exactly where I'm going, it's almost like I'm being drawn to something. It's a suburban area (based off a place I've been before). There various pine trees, houses, and it's very quiet. I see a small girl, maybe 6 years old, jogging along past me. It appears that she is being chased by an old man, but she doesn't seem frightened, she actually seems quite calm. She goes through a shrub, taking a short cut to hide from the old man.

"Be careful!" I call out to her.

Now it's starting to rain. Not to heavy though, not yet. It looks like there's a storm coming in. More and more I'm drawn to this location. I find myself at some sort of corner where several houses are located. I've been here before. Now it's really starting to rain and it's getting really dark. There's no way I'm gonna make it back home. One of the houses, I know I'll find shelter in it. Instead of going to that house right away, I decide to go to the house next to it. I knock on the door and an elderly woman answers.

"Do you know me?" I ask her.

"No." she replies, a smile on her face.

      "Oh, okay." I tell her.

She closes the door and I go to the house. The door is open a crack. I peak inside. My aunt, uncle, and cousins are inside. I walk in and greet them. We have a conversation about how crazy the weather is.

      Fragment 2:
In this fragment I'm in a different body. I'm a cowboy, and I'm having a duel with another one, who kind of looks like Indiana Jones. At first I completely forgot how a duel goes so I just shot him (though no bullet came out). We then got to each others backs, counted down from ten, and turn around. Then a man from behind us draws a gun and shoots the building to our side. The whole front of the building falls off. We go towards him. He says that the ghost train is here and that we need to watch out. Suddenly, the building (or what's left of it) catches fire, except the whole ding is made of brick.

      "See!" He tells us.

"Only the work of the ghost train could do that!"

Those are the only two fragments I remember. Well it's been an interesting, to say the least, week of dreaming. This week I had 15 dreams in total, and two out of those fifteen were lucid. I guess I have a long way ahead of myself.

    5. Experiment with Valerian + Vitamin B-6 + Melatonin, and Incubation

by , 11-29-2010 at 04:44 PM (The Labrynth of the Mind)
Before bed I took 400mg valerian, 50mg vitamin B-6 and 0.5mg melatonin. I woke up at 3:30 am and did a WBTB. I also performed a MILD before sleeping. In addition, I attempted to incubate a dream about Myst Uru.

      Uru Marker Quest
I am in D'ni, doing a marker quest (this takes a while to explain if you don't know what I'm talking about. You can google these things if you're curious). I am in a big room "upstairs" (a vauge dreaming impression, I don't know what building I may have been in). I follow the markers "downstairs" into a large dark blue grey room. It is a little reminiscent of somewhere in Kadesh Tolesa. The marker quest is describing a murder mystery (taken from waking memory. I was on such a marker quest before going to bed, and it was a location I was at during this quest that I was trying to incubate). The markers tell me about a group of people who "explore the walls". They seem to be suspicious, and I look around the walls of the room. I also call someone on the telephone. One guy in particular does not have a telephone. For some reason this makes him even more suspicious.

      The County Fair
In this dream, I am back at my old job with the Army Corps. I am working at the public relations booth at a local county fair.

My former boss is supposed to call me (taken from waking life. I had to call my present boss this morning because he was supposed to call me and didn't). I am at home, but I know he is talking to someone about my phone number. He can't remember my number, and therefore can't call me. I somehow walk into his office as he is saying this.

"You need my number?" I ask, surprising him. We exchange greetings, since we haven't seen each other in a while. Then he sends me out to the county fair.

It is cold and rainy, and many vendors have pulled out of the fair. I myself am a little disgusted with the fair for some reason. I am hungry and decide to get something to eat. I stop at a booth selling hot dogs. I order a hot dog since it is only 75 cents. Then I decide to order french fries too, even though I wasn't going to at first. I fall into conversation with the vendor while he prepares my food, who is also disgusted with the fair.

"This fair ain't like it used to be" he says, squirting ketchup and mustard into a plate and then dumping fries in. "Look at all the people who have pulled out".

"I know," I say, "I think this is going to be our last year here." In fact, I know it is, because I am the one who schedules the fairs. He hands me my food. The fries have onions and peppers mixed in with them. It looks pretty tasty.

I walk for a while, and come to some railroad tracks. There are some people walking on the tracks. What they do is wait for the warning lights to flash on the track signalling a train is coming. Then they jump on the tracks and walk, as though that is the safe time to walk. I try to warn them not to do this (though I seem to be walking on the tracks with them). I describe to them how "two of my relatives - or ancestors, I guess" were killed doing this.

The above dreams were recorded at 3:30AM during the WBTB. The following dreams I recorded this morning.

      Western Christmas Carol

I am with some bad guy, in a sheriff's office of the Wild West. The bad guy has a rather distinctive face, looking like a typical bad guy. While we are waiting for the sheriff, another guy walks in and leans on a counter in front of us. Those of us waiting in the office are startled to see how much this new guy looks like the villain. They could be twins, except this new person is much younger. Then a second person walks in and leans on the counter next to the first person. He too looks exactly like the villain, but he has a big bushy beard. Those of us waiting (the villain, myself, some other person, and Peter Lorre - I don't know how he fit in) talk about the coincidence. Then the villain starts reliving past memories.

The past memories are brought on by the fact that the first look-alike reminded him of his own youth. It is like the Ghost of Christmas Past for him, and he begins to soften up by remembering how he used to be. Then, when he sees the second look-alike, he thinks of the present, and how things could have been different. This then, is the Ghost of Christmas Present.

Then the sheriff walks in. If we were surprised before, imagine our shock at seeing the sheriff - an exact double of our villain, except for the badge and hat. This is the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come, with the ominous foreshadowing of a hanging.

      Sad Dream

This dream may have been part of the Western Christmas Carol dream, as it started out in a similar scene. It deals with some issues from the waking life that are sad and personal to some close friends, so I won't go into much detail in the first part. It cheers up a bit by the end, though.

A man, falsely accused of a crime or imprisoned for a petty crime, has a heart attack while in prison. They could have let him out to go to the doctor, but they didn't. He dies. This makes the following events even more tragic and frustrating for the family. Some other things happen (taken from waking memories) that add to the family's grief. There are some scenes of sadness.

Somehow the scenes above lead into a story of three guys who go to Russia. They send a letter to the United States' government threatening to do something extreme. This causes the government to go into a tizzy, and then reports come that the three guys have taken over Russia. What actually happened is that they claimed Russia and nobody bothered to argue with them. It was so silly that it wasn't worth Russia's effort. However, the newspapers pick up the story and blow it out of proportion. Some of us get a big laugh out of that. "Then violence spreads" as it was said in my dream. I am sort of writing this as a story and living it at the same time. Everything disintegrates into a big fight and mass destruction. I buy candy.

The Minivan in the Kitchen (Lucid)

I am walking down the hallwau in my house towards the kitchen. I enter the kitchen, and on the left where the table is supposed to be is a large minivan. This isn't right, and I realize that I am dreamin. This realization seems to cause me to jump, and I wake up...

...But it's a false awakening. I find myself walking down the same hallway, and enter the kitchen again. I look to my left, and there is the minivan sitting there. This reminds me that I'm dreaming. Once again I jerk when I realize that, and either wake up, have a FA, or something. I can't remember anything else.
    6. Cowboy Land Grab

by , 06-19-2010 at 06:17 PM (Sailing the Noosphere)
A team of cowboys is riding through a heavily forested area in what is clearly a Wild West setting. The team encounters a group of Indians who live on the land, and their first interactions are rather peaceful. Some of the cowboys feel that the Indian elders are plotting against them, but then again, the cowboys themselves are plotting too. They want to take over the land; both cultural assimilation and fighting are suggested.
Soon, one of the cowboys pulls up a tree from the ground, a oil starts to bubble up. He says, "The Federal Reserve is buying this, we're gonna be rich!" The cowboys claim the land, causing the Indians to join with local townsfolk and fight back. The townspeople are dressed in their everyday attire; I notice a lawyer, a banker, and a baker (complete with chef's hat). A crazy firefight ensues between the sides, with no resolution before the dream ends. One of the coolest moments is when the scene suddenly turns into LEGO bricks and goes slo-mo! The shooting continues, and the baker's hat deflects a bullet. Snaps back into real action after that.
    7. "Gazooks!"

by , 06-11-2010 at 06:11 PM (Sailing the Noosphere)
My dad and I are walking the streets of Covington, KY, and talking about what I call "middle English" slang after he uses the word "gazooks!" However, in the dream I understand "middle English" to be Wild West or Industrial Revolution times. I make a joke that we're going back to 1865, like the cast of "Back to the Future" visited the frontier. Exactly after I do so, we find ourselves walking in the Covington of the past. It looks like a typical frontier mining town, and we go on a quest to find his grandfather who is living there. We interact with the bums to find this information, and eventually are led to a saloon. Both of us sit at a rather uncrowded long table, and I request a hard cider. The pretty barmaid smirks at me and says "Take off your glasses, Mr. Mafoy," with the unspoken assumption that they make me look younger than legal drinking age.
